Kristin Mendoza-Nguyen, MPH is a Director on the Medicaid Policy & Programs team at Aurrera Health Group. She supports clients with communication strategy development and execution, policy development and analysis, program implementation, and stakeholder engagement. She works closely with clients within the California Department of Health Care Services on the California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) initiative.
Prior to joining Aurrera Health Group, Kristin worked at a managed care plan in Los Angeles County overseeing a community-based provider network for the Health Homes Program and Enhanced Care Management. In her role at the managed care plan, Kristin led internal and external managed care operations to ensure regulatory compliance and executed oversight and monitoring activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services; managed the provider network strategy development and growth; led provider communications; and provided technical assistance, including capacity building and managing learning communities.
Kristin also previously conducted policy research and program evaluations for Section 1115 Waiver Demonstrations for clients such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. During her time in graduate school, Kristin served as a national scholar with the American Evaluation Association as a Graduate Education Diversity Intern at the National Institutes of Health. Kristin brings diverse public health and healthcare expertise in Medicaid managed care operations, health policy research and evaluation, and program development and implementation.
Kristin holds a master’s degree in public health from George Washington University and two bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Irvine. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her dog Ace in her home in Orange County, CA.
