Maureen Johnson is a Policy Consultant with the Integrated Care team at Aurrera Health Group. Maureen works on a variety of projects that support behavioral health policy in California, including the CalAIM Behavioral Health Initiative.
Prior to joining Aurrera Health Group, Maureen worked at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities, providing technical assistance to federally-funded interdisciplinary training and research programs/centers. She brings extensive experience in program and project management, healthcare workforce development, and stakeholder engagement to her work at Aurrera.
The National Academy of State Health Policy recognized Maureen as one of their Emerging Leader of Color Fellows in 2022. As a fellow, she supported Georgia’s Medicaid Executive Director in initiating the state’s extension of Medicaid postpartum coverage to 12 months.
Maureen is pursuing a master’s degree in public health at Brown University. She completed her bachelor’s degree in public health science at the University of Maryland, College Park. She also holds a certificate in education program evaluation from the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies. When not working or studying, Maureen enjoys attending concerts, binge-watching tv shows, and listening to podcasts. She is a Maryland native and currently resides there.
