Mili Patel, MS is a Policy Consultant with Aurrera Health Group’s Integrated Care team, where she supports projects specific to opioid settlement funds and state opioid response.
Before joining Aurrera Health Group, Mili worked as an intern for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), Office of Public Health. At ONDCP, she supported the implementation of public health approaches to reduce drug use and its consequences in the United States by conducting policy research, engaging with stakeholders, prepping senior staff for meetings/presentations, and tracking state level legislation. Mili also worked with ONDCP General Counsel to research the intersection of substance use and the criminal justice system. Furthermore, she conducted regulatory research to understand how the legal system influences the federal drug policy process.
Mili earned her master’s degree in Addiction Policy & Practice from Georgetown University. While she was a graduate student, Mili worked as a research assistant for the Georgetown Law Center on Poverty and Inequality, Economic Security and Opportunity Initiative. As a research assistant, she analyzed the intersection economic security and social mobility, and its influence on overall wellbeing. Prior to graduate school, Mili worked in clinical research at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
Mili holds a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in human biology and society with a concentration in bioethics and public science policy and was involved in public health advocacy while she was an undergraduate student. Outside of work, Mili enjoys exploring National Parks (she hopes to visit them all), discovering local coffee shops, and attending sporting events.
