Senior Policy Consultant
Alyssa Vicario is a Senior Policy Consultant with Aurrera Health Group’s Integrated Care team, where she supports a wide range of projects related to promoting effective Medicaid and behavioral health policy in California and the nation, including providing policy and implementation support to DHCS’ California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) initiative.
Prior to joining Aurrera Health Group, Alyssa worked as a consultant for several California county behavioral health departments. In this role, she worked with county staff to support the design, implementation, and evaluation of Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funded programs. Alyssa also supported the development of policies and procedures for adherence to state and federal Medi-Cal requirements and the implementation of quality improvement measures to enhance organizational service delivery and improve client health outcomes.
Additionally, in this position Alyssa supported the development and evaluation of several state and federal grant applications for a number of behavioral health organizations throughout the state of California. Highlights include the SAMHSA-funded Primary and Behavioral Health Care Integration (PBHCI) grant and the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) funded Proposition 47 grant.
Alyssa holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and professional writing from the University of California, Davis. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
