Lizzy Schlichting

Lizzy Schlichting, MSW is a Senior Policy Consultant with Aurrera Health Group’s Medicaid Policy & Programs team, where she supports projects to promote healing-centered, trauma-responsive policies and programs.

Lizzy provides policy development, stakeholder engagement, education and training, and workforce development, for projects related to trauma and resilience; mental and behavioral health; health equity; and public health. She works on the Pathways to Resilience initiative supporting states, federal agencies, and community-based organizations in developing trauma-responsive policies and programs within and across sectors.

Prior to joining the firm in 2022, Lizzy worked in the Global Health and Human Rights sector as a Policy Fellow with the Center for Health and Gender Equity, focusing on sexual and reproductive health and rights and maternal and newborn child health. She provided policy research and analysis, developed training materials and educational briefs, and published weekly reports on proposed and forthcoming legislation.

Before and during her time as a Policy Fellow, Lizzy served as the Programs and Operations manager at Bridges to Wealth, a non-profit seeking to reduce the gender and racial wealth gaps in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this role she provided analysis and evaluation and developed programs for trauma-responsive violence prevention and poverty reduction within the Philadelphia School District.

Lizzy has clinical experience working with people who use drugs, people experiencing homelessness, LGBTQ+ youth, and low-income children and families. She volunteers with Prevention Point, an overdose prevention and harm reduction organization in Philadelphia.

Lizzy holds a master’s degree in social work with a concentration in global human rights and public policy from the University of Pennsylvania; a bachelor’s degree in human services and psychology from Lesley University; and is certified in Addiction Counseling from the University of Massachusetts. Outside of work, she loves getting lost in the woods or in a book, traveling and bringing home new recipes, and loving on her pets and plants at home in Philadelphia.
