Teniola Olafuyi, MPH is a Policy Consultant for the Medicaid Policy & Programs team at Aurrera Health Group. She provides support through policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and project management for Aurrera’s contract with the California Department of Health Care Services on the California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal Long-Term Carve-In Transition.
Before joining Aurrera Health, Teniola worked as a Senior Client Services Associate at the Medicare Rights Center in New York City. Teniola worked with Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries to enroll them in cost-assistance programs such as the Medicare Savings Program. In this role, she worked with dual eligibles in New York City with home care services to advocate for more home health care hours through their health plans.
Teniola was also a Graduate Fellow in the New York State (NYS) Department of Agriculture & Markets to research state agriculture legislation. As an intern at the NYS Department of Health, she helped identify social determinants of health factors impacting New York counties and researched concepts related to age-friendly communities and Health in All Policies approach, and interned at a maternal health federal program in the Bronx to assist pregnant and new mothers.
Teniola holds a masters of public health in health policy, a certificate in maternal and child health, and a bachelor’s degree in public health and political science from the University at Albany, State University of New York. In her free time, Teniola enjoys traveling to new cities, watching movies, and being active such as indoor cycling and roller skating.
