Liz Stein, MPH, is a Senior Policy Consultant with the Medicaid Policy & Programs team at Aurrera Health Group.
Liz joined the Aurrera Health team in 2022. Her role focuses on policy research, technical assistance, and stakeholder engagement for a range of Medicaid-related projects. Prior to joining the Aurrera Health team, Liz worked as a researcher for the Minnesota Senate where she analyzed the policy and political implications of proposed legislation and other high-profile issues, primarily relating to the state’s Medicaid programs and health insurance marketplace. Along with state agencies, counties, and other stakeholders, Liz also helped to craft bill language, amendments, and messaging briefs for Senators on a range of issues across the health and human services sectors. Prior to working with the Legislature, Liz served as a community relations project manager at the Minnesota Department of Human Services and led efforts to increase authentic, meaningful stakeholder engagement in the state’s human services programs.
Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Liz moved to Minneapolis for college at the University of Minnesota where she obtained her bachelor’s degree and later a master’s degree in public health. Outside of work, Liz enjoys reading, hiking around Minnesota’s many lakes and trails, and playing with her rambunctious cat, Lenny.
